Congratulations! You've got the ring and a date. Now starts all the planning and details. When you think about your wedding morning, what do you envision? Do you have your bridal party sleep over at a hotel, enjoy a breakfast sipping mimosas while your photographer snaps pictures? Or is your perfect day meeting everyone at the Salon and circling through massage, hair and makeup stations? Take some time to think about what would make you happy and stress free. Anything you envision can happen with a bit of planning. Here are some great tips for getting the day of your dreams:
As soon as you know the date of your wedding you should call us to schedule an appointment. You can have a consultation at any time. Having the consultation months before the wedding gives us time to get everything perfect for the big day.
It's a good idea to include the bridal party and Mom's if you want a certain look for everyone to have. A consultation with the whole bridal party should be 6-8 weeks before the wedding.
Decide where you want to get ready. We are happy to host the morning of or we can assist you at the venue of the wedding.
Have a timeline of when you need to be done getting ready. Are you taking pictures the whole time you are getting ready or just at the venue? Is the whole bridal party doing pictures before the wedding or after?
Make sure there is plenty of food for the bridal party. There's nothing worse than being hangry when you're supposed to be smiling for the photographer. Have an option of light foods that won't give you a gurgly belly or a sugar rush like sandwiches, wraps, veggies, fruit, or a cheese, meat and crackers tray. Have bottled water for everyone.
Be careful not to drink too much alcohol. A photograph with your girls saying "Cheers" is great but having too much and getting a headache, buzzed or jittery during the wedding won't be fun. Drink responsibly.
Make sure there are enough outlets for everyone to use especially if you are getting ready at the venue. You may need to bring a few power strips to accommodate the hair stations, steamers and phone cords.
Have a fashion emergency kit. This could include tide stick, tweezers, blotting papers, clear nail polish, tape, hair spray, bobby pins, safety pins, band aids, sewing kit, ibuprofen, deodorant, toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, Listerine and breath mints.
Don't forget the bridesmaid's gifts. This is a great time to hand out gifts and thank everyone for being there for you on this special day.
Assign someone to cleanup duty. It's definitely not a sexy assignment but all the stuff you brought to get ready needs to be packed up. Knowing who this person will be ahead of time saves you time and stress the day of.
A playlist of all your favorite songs is great to hear while getting ready for your wedding. Relax! Have fun!
